Consumer warning - Cancellations of Volareweb flights without notice

Volareweb has started new flights from Milano Malpensa to Maastricht Aachen at budget prices. This is great news. However we are hearing more and more that flights are being cancelled at the last moment without the airline informing the passengers. You should be warned.

Has anybody else out there had our sad experience?

Recently on Monday the 18th November, my daughter went to Malpensa to get her return flight VE8226 from Malpensa-Milano to Maastrich Aachen. She was told that flight had been cancelled and was offered a flight on the next day to Copenhagen of all places and no other compensation. Copenhagen is not in the Netherlands and is even further away from Maastricht than the starting position of Milano Malpensa.

Furthermore on the previous Thursday because I had heard rumours that all Volareweb flights to and from Maastricht were to be cancelled, I phoned the call centre and they confirmed the flight was still on. On the Friday before leaving Maastricht, my daughter confirmed that the Monday flight had not been cancelled. Nevertheless our worst fears were realised.
